Limiting Beliefs
Why are these limiting beliefs so strong in keeping us in place? We want to live to our full potential, but these beliefs hold us back. Is it a fear of success, or a fear of failure? Either way we do not move forward because we fear something. Where does this fear originate, and do our limiting beliefs come from the same place?
With this in mind a conversation with my Inner Voice may add clarity to the subject of limiting beliefs. My questions will be in italics for clarity.

Where do our limiting beliefs originate?
False beliefs and negative
self-talk begin from what you have learned about yourself from other people.
They judge you as being incapable of succeeding, in doing so they plant the
seeds of self-doubt. It is here where false beliefs and negative self-talk gain
strength in your consciousness.
Limiting beliefs originate from the
false beliefs, and negative self-talk you keep repeating to yourself throughout
the day. As you continue to focus on these untruths, these beliefs are strong
enough to become part of who you think you are. You are too afraid to move
forward to pursue a dream because you have convinced yourself you will fail, or
it will not go well for you.
How do we know if our beliefs, and negative self-talk are true or not?
Any thought or belief not founded
in love is a thought or belief worth ignoring. Ask yourself if a thought or
belief has a foundation of love. If not the thought or belief is negative and
should be released from your awareness.
Oftentimes false beliefs originate
from the beliefs of others. These beliefs may not have any truth, or love in
them, yet you believe them to be true because those who you respect taught
these beliefs to you. You are not courageous enough to challenge the merit of
the belief because you have believed the negative belief for so many years.
How do we go from false beliefs and negative self-talk to limiting beliefs?
Imagine false beliefs and negative
self-talk as bricks that build the wall of limiting beliefs. You can’t move
forward because this wall of limiting beliefs keeps you in place. To challenge
your belief as a way to discover what is true and right for you, is to begin to
dismantle the wall of limiting beliefs.
Some of our limiting beliefs may have merit, what then?
The majority of your limiting
beliefs have been created from your self-doubt and your false beliefs. There
will be some limiting beliefs that do have validity, but this does not mean you
cannot excel in other areas of your life. Many great writers, scholars,
scientists, and teachers have overcome what appeared to be limiting beliefs to
effect positive change in the world. Remember limiting beliefs are often
defined by others, and ignored by those who are successful.
What are some of the best ways to overcome our limiting beliefs?
Know that if your desire is true,
right, and founded in love you will have the strength and courage to succeed, along
with the clarity to hear the guidance which will help move you forward. Also
you are stronger than your self-doubt. When you begin to hear the words of
doubt or negative self-talk, tell yourself that you are not those lies. Tell
yourself, you are capable of accomplishing all that is true and right for you,
all you have to do is break down the wall of limiting beliefs.
Won’t we always have a bit of self-doubt, or some level of limiting beliefs?
This will depend on how strong you
are emotionally. Some days may be better than others. When you are moving in
the direction of what is true for you, your self-doubt and limiting beliefs
will not have any lasting impact on the outcome of your desire. If you begin to
feel your limiting beliefs creeping into your thoughts, ask yourself if there
is a message there for you. Are you going in the right direction, or have you
overlooked an important ingredient necessary for your success?
Learning to trust yourself will
become second-nature when you move past your negative self-talk and your
limiting beliefs.

Limiting beliefs are something we
all have experienced at some point in our lives. The way forward is by knowing
that we are stronger and more capable than we know.

Each week I send a newsletter/conversation to those who have subscribed. This week we discuss redefining beauty. Here is an excerpt.
Is beauty just a physical characteristic, or is there more to being beautiful?
True beauty is when a person is
living in union with the love within them. This love then radiates out to the
world, touching everyone in a positive way. Physical beauty is not true beauty
until this union is achieved. The truth of who you are is love, and it is this
love that helps shape the way the world experiences you.
